The epic trilogy of Braghetterosse

Was one of the first project the Brand started out with in 2009, one year after the start. Trilogy because the heroines were the three Braghetterosse sisters: Pimpa, Maria and Nina.

With names similar to Cristoforo Colombo’s three caravels, they stand for the endeavor and courage to search for a new world. Each of the three sisters—who are triplets—has special inclinations that all contribute to the final results.

The idea was to issue in print and online a collection of episodes of a story that would be written and drawn by different young graphic talents wanting to join in the critical commentary about the ethical and environmental concerns of Braghetterosse and have an opportunity to show their individual styles.

The auspice was that these comic characters and the running story could reinforce marketing of the Brand’s products.

Episode 0

Episode ‘0’ was conceived and designed by Marzia Devoto and myself and puts the reader right in the middle of the global disaster, while episode ‘1’ was drawn by volunteer art school students, each with their own illustration style, and explains the situation immediately before the global explosion. We composed the story as a group.

The story was going to evolve along the participation of other young artists joining the cause but too many other projects were on the burner at the same time and we didn’t find the energy to expand the communication effort for our comic epic trilogy that in our plans was going to be composed of three books. This was supposed to be a long running project.

This—as the other projects—was supposed to participate in a circular ‘economy’ where several stakeholders would enjoy mutual benefits and more could have been added.
